DONKEY SECTION Entry Money - Members £4, Non-members £8 per Entry. Prize Money: 1st £40; 2nd £30; 3rd £20; 4th £15; 5th £10; 6th £5 232. Best Conditioned and Turned Out Donkey, any age. 233. Stallion or Gelding, 4 years old or over. 234. Mare 4 years old and over or Broodmare 5 years old or over, with own foal at foot. Foals to be 6 weeks old or over on day of Show and born in the current year. 235. Foal, progeny of mare in previous class. 236. Colt or Gelding, 2 or 3 years old. 237. Filly, 2 or 3 years old. 238. Colt, Filly or Gelding, yearling. 239. Miniature Donkey - Male. 240. Miniature Donkey - Female. Note - Stallions and Entire Colts must wear bridle and bit, the leading rein to be correctly attached to the bit. SPECIAL PRIZES CHAMPION PRIZE - A Champion Medal will be presented by the Association for the Best Donkey classes 233, 234, 236-238 The Association presents a Perpetual Cup to the Champion in this Section classes 233, 234, 236-238 The Association presents £50 to the exhibitor of the Champion Animal classes 233, 234, 236-238 Ardmore Distillery presents a miniature of Teacher's Highland Cream to the Champion in this Section classes 233, 234, 236-238 Donkey Breed Society presents Rosettes to the Best Gelding in Classes 233, 236 and 238 also Best Two Year Old Exhibit in Classes 236 and 237; Best Young Handler in Class 234; Best Foal in Class 235 and Rosette for Best Veteran Donkey of 20 years old or over in Class 232. Best Local Donkey Rosette to be presented to the best Donkey owned by D.B.S member within 25 miles radius of the Showfield and Flint Perpetual Trophy. Eligible competitors to wear a yellow armband. Blackford Challenge Trophy represented by Mrs N. Sangster for Best Female Donkey. Perpetual Trophy presented by Mrs N. Sangster, Braeriach, North Eddieston, Skene for Best Yearling Donkey. The In-Hand Champion Donkey at this Show automatically qualifies for the relevant Championship at the D.B.S. Annual Supreme Championship Show in August 2020 provided it is owned by a fully paid up member of the D.B.S. A donkey may win more than one Championship at shows but will qualify only once for the D.B.S. Championship Show. Where the In Hand Champion donkey has previously qualified, the Reserve Champion Donkey will be deemed the Qualifier. If the Reserve Champion has also previously qualified, the judge will select another donkey from the In Hand Championship line up as the qualifier for the D.B.S. Annual Supreme Championship Show. The Champion Donkey at this Show automatically qualifies for the Summerhays Brood Mare Award Scheme, provided it is owned by a fully paid-up member of the D.B.S. Donkey classes are open to everyone whether or not a member of the D.B.S. and whether or not the Donkeys are registered. D.B.S. Special Rosettes, however, can only be awarded to D.B.S. members. |
