Working Hunter Horse 15hh and over and 4 years old and over - Riders 18 years or over on the day of the competition. The Stewarts Building Services/BHS Scotland Working Hunter Series 2014. Eight to twelve fences approx. 3ft. 6in. in height. Classes will be judged in line with the Sports Horse Breeding of Great Britain Rules (www.sporthorsegb.co.uk) The first three prizewinners will qualify even if they do not jump clear for the final to be held at The Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair on Thursday, 21st August, 2014. If one of these has already qualified, qualification can be handed down to fourth place provided they have a clear round in the jumping phase. To be eligible for the Final, either the rider or owner of the horse must be a member of the British Horse Society. Qualifiers will be handed a postcard to complete and send off with their entry fee for the final. Class 115. Novice Working Hunter Horse 4 Years old and Over exceeding 153cms. Riders to be 17 years or over on the day of the Show. Open to all horses never placed 1st to 3rd in an Open WHP Class. Fences 80-90cms. Class 116. The BSPS Open Intermediate Working Hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cm, and not exceeding 158cms. Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Height of fences approx. 1.15m. 117. The BSPS Open WHP mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, over 143cms and not exceeding 153cms. Riders not to have attained their 20th birthday before 1st January in current year. Height of fences approx. 1.05m. 118. The BSPS Open WHP mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, over 133cms and not exceeding 143cms. Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st January in current year. Height of fences approx 1m. 119. The BSPS Open WHP mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 133cms. Riders not to have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in current year. Height of fences approx 90cms. 120. The BSPS Nursery Stakes. Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 133 cms. Riders not to have attained their 13th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences 60cm - 75cm. 121. The BSPS Cradle Stakes. Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over not exceeding 122 cms. Riders not to have attained their 11th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Fences 55cm - 70cm. 122. Registered Mountain and Moorland Mixed Height Working Hunter Pony - Highland, Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Welsh Section A&B, Fell, Dale, New Forest, Connemara and Welsh Section C&D. Mare, Stallion or Gelding, 4 Years Old and Over. Ponies up to 13.2hh. fences maximum height 70cms. Over 13.2hh, fences maximum height 85cms. The three highest placed ponies not already qualified, will qualify for the NPS Scotland/Kingfisher Building Products Mountain & Moorland Open WHP Championship final at the Blair Castle International Horse Trials on 22nd August, 2014. Qualifications to go no lower than sixth place. BSPS SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS This Show is a qualifier for the 2014 BSPS Championship Show to be held at Arena UK. 1st and 2nd prizewinners in Classes 117 - 120 and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizewinners in Class 116 and 121 will qualify provided the animal is registered in accordance with rule 23 and ridden by a BSPS member. Rule 23: Ponies must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify, except in the case of exhibitors who have never been members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies, providing they have a valid J.M.B. certificate before the date of the Championship they qualify for. BSPS BEST RIDER This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Best Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in each Class 116 - 121 will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer Championship Show. BSPS CHALLENGE This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Challenge. The highest placed pony in each Class 116 - 121 that have not qualified for the BSPS 2014 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the BSPS Challenge, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony. BSPS PREMIER LEAGUE This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Premier League. Qualification will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th placed ponies in classes 116 - 121. The final will be held at the BSPS Summer Championship Show. BSPS Open WHP Championship open to ponies that have been placed first or second in Classes 116, 117, 118 and 119. BSPS Open Mini WHP Championship open to ponies that have been placed first or second in the BSPS Nursery Stakes and BSPS Cradle Stakes classes only. BSPS CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the Champion Mini Working Hunter Pony and the Champion Open Working Hunter Pony will qualify. Blair Castle open Working Hunter pony Championships. Classes 117, 118 and 119 are qualifiers. Ponies placed first to fourth in each class will qualify for the Championship held at Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair on Thursday, 21st August, 2014. Qualification may go down to sixth place, if higher placed ponies have previously qualified. Classes to be judged in line with BSPS rules. Working Hunter Pony Rules for Classes 116 to 121 The Rules as laid down in the BSPS Rule Book apply to all the WHP Classes as well as the rules set out below which apply specifically to the WHP Classes. all WHp classes are restricted to mares and geldings. Mares with a living foal, born during the current season, are barred from WHp classes. Stallions barred. Saddlery: No change of saddlery is allowed between phases or during a phase. No whip to exceed 75 cm. (30 in.) No spurs allowed. Snaffle bridles are permitted. After the start of the competition the rider may not be changed under any circumstances. Entries: Any horse or pony that has won £1,000 in prize money under BSJA Rules at the date of the show is ineligible. No Competitor may ride more than one pony in any class. Non-members of BSPS can compete in Classes 116 to 121 but are not eligible to win a B.S.P.S. Rosette. Jumping penalties - First Refusal 15; Second Refusal 20; Third Refusal Disqualification; Fall of horse or rider disqualification. A complete turnround constitutes a refusal. Jumping Knockdown 10. Marking: Phase One-Jumping 50: Style and manners 20; Phase Two-Conformation, type and freedom of action 20; Manners 10; Total - 100.
