CEREAL GROWING COMPETITION

CLOSING DATE FOR ALL ENTRIES: MONDAY 26TH JUNE 2023 RULES 1.This competition is open to members of Turriff District Agricultural Association ONLY. 2.Only one entry per business/company name may be entered in each of the four categories - Winter Barley, Winter Wheat, Spring Barley Malting or Feed) and Spring Oats. 3.Crops will be judged for quality and potential yield; consideration will be given to uniformity, freedom from weeds and pests, grain size and estimated plant stand. 4.The minimum size of field is 4 hectares (9.88 acres). 5.Prizes will be awarded in each of the four crop categories as follows: 1st £30 2nd £20 3rd £10 6. PRIZE MONEY WILL BE PAID TO YOUR NOMINATED ACCOUNT - PLEASE PROVIDE BANK DETAILS 7.Crops will be judged in July. 8.A perpetual trophy will be presented to the Best Overall Entry. 9.No entry fees. 10.PLEASE SEND A PHOTOCOPY OF A MAP SHOWING THE ENTERED FIELD(S) ALONG WITH THE COMPLETED ENTRY FORM (FOR JUDGING PURPOSES). 11.Closing date for entries MONDAY 26TH JUNE 2023
